The Gloucestershire Award
Did you know that as young people you can get valuable Gloucestershire awards from the county council/youth service for work you may do in church?
The award consists of 3 parts:
Working as a team
Developing a new skill
Serving the community
You can either do such tasks separately or do one project that combines all three elements. Projects which young people have done across the diocese to earn such awards include:
Doing youth services
Redecorating their church youth room
Raising money and awareness for a charity
Running jumble sales
Each award comes with certificates signed by the head of county council, youth service and Bishop Michael.
These awards are worth a great deal as young people who have done them via their church have found that because they have done the award they have been accepted to do other things e.g. attend school trips with limited places.
